People who have financial problems are desperate and pay large sums of money to anyone without checking out their credentials, license or background.

The absolute amazing thing is that people are so scared of the B word (Bankruptcy) that they will pay somebody online thousands of dollars to try to save their property or protect them from creditors, without ever meeting that person face to face or even knowing where they are located.

You hear thousands of commercials on radio about resolving your debt problems without filing bankruptcy or dealing with IRS problems with alleged testimonials. How do you really know if these people are just paid spokespeople for the companies?

Scammers specifically take advantage of people who have financial problems since they know they are desperate. But if you have financial problems, I would be very wary dealing with somebody I did not know or can’t check their credentials. Also, if a company has so much money to pay for advertisements either on the radio or online, you should wonder where that money is coming from since it is not free to advertise. Also, if you hire an internet company to deal with your creditors, you should find out what percentage of your payment goes to their fees and whether they deal with creditors who have sued you.

Mr. Taieb has seen too many clients who have paid for internet providers to do a workout for their debt and then when they are sued, the creditor gets a judgment against them.

Also, if you are paying somebody to promise you a loan modification you better have second thoughts since no bankruptcy Judge can force a mortgage company to do a loan modification, since it is a voluntary agreement.

Finally, if bankruptcy is a concern with your credit, do you really think that these other alternatives don’t have an impact on your credit too?
